Responsible horse owners do their best to make sure that they are prepared and know what to do in the event of their’ equine companion’s sudden death or necessary euthanasia. This means that you do not have the additional stress and worry of having to organise cremation arrangements in the midst of grief.

Knowing where to turn for practical and compassionate equine end of life advice is of great importance. It means that your faithful companion’s death is dealt with in a humane and sensitive way, in accordance with your wishes. Heavenly Pastures can collect your horse within a few hours in the Cheshire, Merseyside or Lancashire area. We offer a respectful, sympathetic and compassionate service.

Notification of your horse’s death

Within 30 days of your loss, the Passport Issuing Organisation (PIO) that issued your horse’s passport should be notified of the animal’s death. You should also notify your veterinary practice, dental practice, and physiotherapist in order to prevent appointment reminders in the future.

Cremation Options

Along with your wishes, we can offer you a cost-effective cremation or an individual cremation with your horse’s ashes being returned to you. The choice is yours, and we are able to take a respectful approach to meet your circumstances, personal preference and budget. If you choose an individual cremation, we will return your equine companion’s ashes to you in a beautiful oak casket with a brass nameplate engraved with their name. Whatever you choose, we will handle your horse with the utmost professionalism and respect.

					I would not hesitate to recommend Heavenly Pastures.  Lynne in the office was so kind and helpful every time we spoke; Oliver, the driver who came to collect Jake, was so sensitive and respectful - I knew that he would take good care of my boy on his final journey. 					Such a professional & caring service. Right from the start to returning Hamish they looked after us every step of the way. The kind gentleman who returned Hamish to our home was exceptional & when running late notified us but also told us he was taking good care of Hamish.  Which in times when grieving such a loss is so very comforting.

					I’d just like to thank everyone from Heavenly Pastures involved with Flairs final journey and her cremation.  

From the first phone call to Flair being brought home to me Lucy was always happy to answer any questions I had.

Flair was treated with respect and care, I knew she was in safe hands for which I’ll always be grateful.

Heavenly Pastures made an extremely difficult time easier to deal with.

					We lost our beautiful horse Leo last week,Heavenly Pastures came to collect him and I cannot praise this company enough, from the lady in the office I dealt with initially, to the man who came to collect him, then their delivery driver who brought him back to our house, all empathetic, professional and kind. Leo was returned a week after he left us.

Leo had a plate in his leg which I was desperate to have returned along with his shoes, these items were all returned along with some of his ashes in a scatter tube the rest in a bag, as I had requested no wooden casket.

Thank you again Heavenly Pastures, you made one of the saddest days more bearable.
